Luzardo is a cattle management and weight estimation app provided by Luzardo Technologies, Inc., a Delaware corporation doing business as Luzardo ("Luzardo", "we", "our"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use and protect your information when you use our mobile app and related services. Our Terms of Service also apply.
Information We Collect
Account information
- Email address and name, provided at sign-up or through Google or Apple sign-in
- Authentication data managed by our identity provider (Clerk)
- Your language and app preferences
Ranch and cattle data
- Ranch name, country and state or province
- Cattle records, including tag IDs, names, breeds, birth dates, sex, pens, events (vaccinations, treatments, breeding, moves and others), costs and notes
- Weight measurements and estimation history
Photos
- Photos of cattle that you take or select for weight estimation. The weight estimate is calculated on your device.
- When you are online, the photos from a weigh-in are uploaded to our servers. We remove location (GPS) and other capture metadata from them before storing them.
- Uploaded photos may be retained and used to train and improve our weight estimation models. Photos used for training are de-identified and not linked to your account. If you do not want your photos used for model training, contact us at the email below to opt out.
Notebook uploads (United States only)
- If you choose to upload photos of a paper herd notebook, we process them with an AI text recognition service (OpenAI) to turn the pages into herd records, and our team reviews the result before adding it to your ranch.
- This feature is not offered to ranches in the EU, EEA, United Kingdom or Switzerland.
Billing information (United States only)
- If your ranch subscribes, payment is handled by Stripe on its own pages. We never receive or store your full card or bank account number.
- We receive and keep the subscription status, the billing name and address, the number of head billed, invoices and payment history, and the Stripe customer identifier.
Usage and diagnostic data
- App usage analytics (screens viewed, features used) and session replays of app screens, collected through Amplitude to understand and fix usability problems. Session replays mask text you type.
- Crash reports and error data, collected through Sentry, and server logs and performance data to keep the service reliable. We configure these not to collect your email address or name.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on your device and synced to our servers on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Authentication is managed by Clerk, a SOC 2 Type II certified identity provider.
Data Locations
- United States: ranches in the United States and other countries are hosted on AWS in the United States (Virginia).
- European Union: ranches in the EU, EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland are hosted on AWS in Frankfurt, Germany. Some ranches in these countries that were created before October 2026 are still hosted in the United States while we move them to Frankfurt.
Some of the service providers listed below process data in the United States. Where we transfer personal data from the EU, EEA, United Kingdom or Switzerland to the United States, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Offline Functionality
Luzardo works offline. Your cattle records, weights and estimates are stored on your device and synced with our servers when you are online.
Service Providers
We share data only with providers that help us run the service, each under its own privacy terms:
- Amazon Web Services: hosting, databases and photo storage
- Clerk: authentication and user management
- Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple: optional sign-in methods
- Stripe: subscription payments, invoices and sales tax (United States only)
- OpenAI: text recognition for notebook uploads (United States only)
- Resend: sending service emails
- Amplitude: app usage analytics and session replay
- Sentry: crash and error reporting
We may also disclose information when required by law, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.
Data Retention
- Account, ranch, cattle and weight records: kept while your account is active, and deleted when you delete your account (Settings, Delete account), normally within 30 days.
- Photos: deleted with your account, except de-identified copies used for model training, which may be kept after deletion.
- Billing records: kept as long as required for tax and accounting law, even after account deletion.
- Usage analytics: kept for up to 24 months.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification: ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Erasure: delete your account and its data, from the app or by asking us
- Portability: request an export of your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interest, including the use of your photos for model training
- Restriction: ask us to limit how we process your data
- Withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time

EU, EEA, UK and Swiss residents
Our legal bases for processing are listed in the table above. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California residents
You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, and to opt out of its sale. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Children's Privacy
Luzardo is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email. Changes are posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
